Glow is by far, one of the most intuitive, and relaxing Video Slot games we’ve ever had the pleasure of playing, and as soon as you load up the game, you’ll see for yourself why. The graphics… audio… even the way the reels’ spin is calming and soothing, and the game’s tone is designed to offer an alternative from the fast-paced, action-packed slot world which most software providers create their games around, these days.
Themed loosely around Native American culture, the game did draw a little controversy at first, with some players objecting to playing the game, due to what they deemed an “offensive ideology” … however, today, players generally accept the game, and realize Net Entertainment themed it just like any other game.
The layout of the game itself is ‘classic Net Entertainment’, with 5-reels and 15 pay lines, which are fixed (meaning you can’t change how many you play. The game board is designed on a near-transparent set of reels, with just the symbols visible above the gorgeous backdrop, featuring rich oranges, blues, and purples.
The game uses five high-paying symbols, and the standard low-paying playing card symbols, including 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. The high-paying symbols are based around animal masks, and you’ll see a Deer, a Bear, a Wolf, an Owl, and a Snake depicted on the reels.
There’s also a wild symbol, which takes the form of yet another animal, and this symbols distinctive, thanks to it’s bright, alluring pink colour. Any time the wild helps to make a winning payline, you’re given a 2X multiplier on the symbols involved in the win, so it’s always nice to see the wild drop.
Bonus Round
The bonus-round within Glow is a free-spins feature, although it’s not by any means “typical” from Net Entertainment – or any software provider for that matter. There’s no scatter symbols, or bonus symbols required to enter the free-spins, and instead, they’re awarded when you form certain combinations of symbols.
Each time you make a winning payline with 3, 4, or 5 of the Owl, Bear, Snake, and Wolf, you’ll win 1, 2, or 5 free-spins respectively. The Deer is slightly different, awarding 1 free-spin for just two of the symbols on a winning payline, and 1, 2, and 5 free-spins for landing 3, 4, and 5, respectively.
Now, during the free-spins, all wins – wild or no wild – will be multiplied by 2X… but it’s also possible to win even more free-spins, this time, with the playing-card symbols counting. So, during the free-spins, if you make a win using the animal symbols, you’ll be awarded the same number of free-spins as we discussed above… but any playing card wins also add to your free-spins total, with 3-of-a-kind, 4-of-a-kind, and 5-of-a-kind awarding 1, 2, and 5 free-spins respectively.
It’s quite easy to get in a good ‘groove’ during the free-spins and carry on for quite some time, and thanks to the 2X multiplier, it’s a great change from the base-game, where you can win substantially more money, while having a great time.
